Sometimes a project that doesn't quite work isn't really a failure. Sometimes it's just waiting to become something else.

The sweeping silver-toned wirework at the heart of this cuff began as part of an earlier creation that never came together as intended. But those broad, overlapping oval loops were far too interesting to discard—and when Between Violet & Blue began to take shape, they finally found where they belonged.

The reclaimed wirework was transformed into a cuff and woven together with a strand of semiprecious stone, glass and crystal beads, faux pearls, iridescent glass tubular beads and silver-toned accents. Beginning with deep violet at the center, the colors shift through flashes of brilliant blue before softening into pale purples and lavenders toward the edges of the cuff—a gradual movement of color that echoes the Between Violet & Blue theme in a completely different way.

The finished bracelet is bold and sculptural without feeling heavy, with the open oval wirework providing a striking contrast to the smaller, more intricate beadwork. Like so much of this collection, it wasn't completely planned—it grew from what was already there into something entirely new.
